Health & Fitness Advisor
I have worked as a Health and Fitness Advisor in the fitness industry since 2008. I became a fully qualified Personal Trainer when I was 21years old through Fitness Scotland in Edinburgh. I have worked at TriFitness since its opening in 2011, during that time I have gained valuable experience and knowledge of the fitness industry.
Each year I have developed my personal skills for the good of the centre, learning new and exciting training programmes and methods which have included all the latest Les Mills releases, keeping up the latest fitness trends which have helped my clients when delivering Personal Training.
I get a great buzz turning into work
I joined the leisure industry aged 16 when I worked as a Lifeguard. I became a swimming teacher and Supervisor at Selkirk Leisure Centre before moving to the Management team at Laidlaw memorial pool in Jedburgh.
I joined the fitness team at Tri in 2014 as a Health and Fitness Advisor. I am Qualified as a Level 3 personal trainer and an instructor of Spinning, Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Balance and Kettlercise. I am also a Jog Scotland Leader.
I have a real passion for Fitness and feel that my drive and approachable personality allow new gym goers to overcome their nerves and develop a healthy motivation for a more active lifestyle.
Health & Fitness advisor
I have been working in the fitness industry for over 7 years, 4 of those being at TriFitness, after studying to become a Personal Trainer down in London. I have vast experience in all aspects of health and fitness, including strength & conditioning, weight loss, general and sports fitness training.
My time at TriFitness has seen me gain valuable experience and qualifications to develop the best I can, as a health & fitness advisor. Becoming a Les Mills instructor, training sports teams and building a strong Personal Trainer clientele are only a few of my many highlights at TriFitness!
My passion has always been football; I am currently working through my coaching badges and work for the SYFC (Scottish Youth Football Association) coaching their juniors.
I have been involved within the fitness industry for over 17 years now having studied Sports Coaching and Development at Edinburgh’s Telford College after leaving school. From here I went on to start my fitness career at McDonald Cardrona Hotel then onto Norton House Hotel in Edinburgh where I got the opportunity use my vast fitness knowledge and become a Fitness Manager in a new Health Leisure and Spa Suite.
My time at the leisure suites has seen me qualify in Aqua Aerobics, Spin, Gym Level 2, Gym Level 3, Circuits and creating a vast variety of gym programmes for members of all fitness ability.
I joined the TriFitness team in September 2017 and LOVE taking my weekly spin classes. I’m hoping to gain some more qualifications and extra experience whilst I continue to work with a great team of experts.
When I was younger I had hoped for a career in the Fitness Industry. However I ended up studying Business Management and it helped me secure employment from a young age. In my mid-20s I decided to pursue my dream and study Sport, Health and Fitness Management through Open University.
I then went on to do various other practical courses in order to become a qualified Fitness Instructor. I have been Teaching at Tri-Fitness for five years now on a part-time basis. By day, I work for the Scottish Government so the two jobs are very different.
I am qualified in Exercise to Music, Spin, Les Mills Grit, Les Mills Body Combat and Les Mills Body Attack. My passion is to teach and seeing others enjoying exercise is my reward.
I have two lovely Daughters, Taylor and Ava. They make me very proud – especially at home when they help me learn all my routines.
I started to take my fitness seriously when I had issues with my back.
Strength training and core work was a huge part of me taking control. Having only focused previously on cardio training my fitness and health started to fly with weight training. The group class environment also really helped motivate, educate and spur me on.
I finally took the plunge in 2017 to become a qualified ETM group class instructor. Since then I have trained as a Les Mills instructor in Body Pump, Cx Worx and Body Combat. Fitness is now a huge part of my life. I love feeling strong both physically and mentally. This challenges me and is the perfect stress release from my day job as an oncology nurse.
I've worked as an English teacher for the past 13 years. I developed an interest in fitness after having my first child in 2012. I soon became hooked on group fitness classes and so I took the plunge and combined fitness with teaching by doing my ETM in 2015, almost a year after having my second child.
Initially, I taught my own independent classes, including Metafit, circuit training/general fitness classes and ante-postnatal fitness classes. I now teach Les Mills BodyCombat and BodyAttack. I really enjoy teaching group fitness classes, not only for what they do for people physically, but also for the social element.
